Essential functions
The private member area uses Netlify Identity to sign you in and maintain your session. This storage is needed for the member service you request. We also save your privacy choice on this device so we do not ask on every page. You can use the public site without accepting optional features.
Optional: remember tool progress
If you allow it, this website saves your English readiness and IELTS practice progress, arrival simulation, university shortlist and accommodation comparison in your browser’s local storage. These entries remain on your device and are not sent to us by this feature. Without permission, the tools work during the current page visit but do not save progress for later. Withdrawing permission removes the saved tool entries we manage on this device.
Optional: Google Maps
Student Life Lens connects to Google Maps only after you choose to allow it and explore a location. The location you type, map requests and your IP address are then sent to Google; Google may use its own cookies or similar technologies. If you decline, the rest of our site and other planning tools remain available. You can change your choice in the footer. If a map is already open, changing the choice reloads the page to stop further map use.
Temporary transfer between tools
When you move a shortlist from University Explorer to Offer Comparison, we use browser session storage to transfer that selection. It lasts only for the browser session and is cleared by the receiving tool. Links you choose to open on third-party sites, such as Google Maps directions, are subject to those sites’ own policies.
